Appendix D – Terms for Purchasing Azure Reserved Instances
Azure Reserved Instances, or as they are often referred to: RI, are essentially VMs and resources which have been reserved on Microsoft Azure’s Public IaaS cloud for dedicated use on a one-year or three-year basis. Purchasing Reserved instances is carried out by Sela for the customer and is basically a monetary commitment against expected future workloads.
Terms for RI purchase:
- The customer agrees to pay the monthly amount as defined in the monthly billing for 12 months from the day of starting the reservation. The billing for RI will be a part of the regular Azure consumption bill the customer receives from Sela monthly and is obligated to pay.
- The monetary commitment is non transferrable to cover other resources usage.
- In case the customer does not pay the billing on time, Sela will be entitled to cancel the monetary commitment with Microsoft and the customer will pay an early termination fee: 12% of the remaining commitment multiplied by the number of months remaining to the original end date of the commitment. The customer will also pay any other fee or payment requested due to the cancellation of the reservation. See full description of cancellation fees and impact here: Microsoft documentation.
- Reserved Instances purchasing does not affect any of the other terms and conditions in this agreement.
