Technical Business Analyst

We’re looking for an experienced Systems Analyst to join a large-scale system rewrite/modernization initiative running on AWS. This role goes beyond writing User Stories – you’ll be hands-on in producing detailed, system-level functional and technical specifications that feed directly into a Spec-Driven / Model-Based development process, working closely with developers who leverage AI tools to translate specs into code.

• Conduct in-depth analysis of the existing system to identify components requiring change or a full rewrite
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications (Spec) to support Spec-Driven development
• Author hands-on, system-level specification documents with full technical detail – not limited to User Stories
• Work closely with the development team, AWS specialists, and business stakeholders to shape system solutions suited to a cloud environment
• Participate in short sprint planning cycles, scope definition, and tracking of requirements through execution
• Collaborate on an ongoing basis with development teams using AI tools to automatically convert specifications into code
• Maintain consistency and quality of deliverables, including documentation and change control throughout the project lifecycle

• At least 3 years of experience specifying complex information systems (significant advantage for experience in the public sector or large organizations)
• Strong command of Agile methodologies and sprint-based team workflows
• Practical understanding of cloud architectures and AWS-based projects (significant advantage)
• Familiarity with Spec-Driven / Model-Based Development
• Experience with large-scale system rewrite/modernization projects – significant advantage
• Experience working with AI tools or AI-assisted development workflows – advantage
• Knowledge of integrating AI into software development processes – advantage
• Excellent written communication, systems thinking, and strong interpersonal skills
• Relevant degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering & Management, or Computer Science
